What is a Galvanized steel coil?
Galvanized coil, referred to as galvanized sheet or galvanized steel
sheet. Galvanized coils are produced using hot-rolled steel strips or
cold-rolled steel strips as base plates through a continuous hot-dip
galvanizing process. Hot-dip galvanized sheets are supplied as
rectangular flat sheets after cross-cutting; hot-dip galvanized coils
are supplied as rolls after being rolled.
The surface of galvanized coils is smooth, not only has high
corrosion resistance, but also has beautiful appearance. It is widely
used in construction, home appliances, automobiles and other industries.
The main material of galvanized coil is cold rolled steel plate.
Cold-rolled steel plate refers to a steel plate processed by hot-rolled
plate or hot-rolled steel strip through cold rolling process. Compared
with hot-rolled steel plates, cold-rolled steel plates have a smoother
surface and higher dimensional accuracy. This makes cold rolled steel
sheets a better base material for galvanized coils.
Before making galvanized coils, cold-rolled steel sheets undergo a
series of pre-treatment steps, such as degreasing, cleaning and heating.
Then, the cold-rolled steel sheet is immersed in molten zinc liquid
containing zinc components through the dipping method. At high
temperatures, zinc reacts with the steel surface to form a uniform,
dense zinc-iron alloy layer. This forms our common galvanized coil.
Since zinc has good corrosion resistance, galvanized coils are not
easily affected by oxidation and corrosion, so they have good
anti-corrosion effects.
In addition to cold-rolled steel sheets, galvanized coils are also
coated with a protective coating. This coating can provide better
corrosion protection and extend the service life of galvanized coils.
Generally speaking, the coatings of galvanized coils are mainly
divided into organic coatings and inorganic coatings. Organic coatings
are composed of organic resins and pigments and have good weather
resistance and decorative properties. Inorganic coatings are composed of
inorganic substances such as phosphating or silicides and have better
corrosion resistance.

What is a Galvalume steel coil?
The alloy coating of Galvalume steel coil is composed of about 55%
aluminum, about 43.5% zinc and about 1.5% silicon. Compared with
traditional galvanized products, it has better corrosion resistance,
heat resistance and heat reflection.
The surface of Galvalume steel coil has fine and uniform zinc
flowers, bright color, high surface hardness, and can be coated with a
variety of colors of fingerprint resistant semi-permeable film, which is
widely used in household appliances, construction, structure,
electrical appliances and other industries.
